Understanding the Sperm Donation Journey
The sperm donation process at ACRC is designed to be clear, respectful, and comfortable. Each step plays a vital role in ensuring a safe and successful donation experience—for both you and the Intended Parents.
Registration & Application
Start by completing our easy online registration form. If you meet the initial criteria, our team will reach out to guide you through a detailed application and schedule an introductory consultation to review your goals, answer questions, and explain the process.
Pre-Qualification
Our team will review your application to confirm you meet eligibility requirements. You may be asked to undergo a semen analysis as part of the pre-qualification process.
Matching
We’ll create a non-identifying profile that includes key characteristics such as eye/hair color, education, and background. This profile is shared with Intended Parents seeking certain qualities. Once mutual interest is confirmed, and with consent from both parties, we may coordinate a brief match meeting to ensure compatibility. Compared to egg donation, direct sperm donation is often prioritized to expedite the process.
Screening
Once matched, you’ll undergo comprehensive screening following ASRM recommendations and FDA guidelines. This includes:

These evaluations ensure you’re in optimal health and fully prepared for donation.
Legal Procedure
After medical clearance, both you and the Intended Parents will work with legal professionals to review and finalize a sperm donation agreement. This contract outlines expectations, responsibilities, and compensation—ensuring legal protection for all involved.
Sperm Collection
Once the legal agreement is finalized, you’ll be scheduled for sperm collection at a partnered fertility clinic. The collection will be conducted in a private, professional setting. Depending on the arrangement, your sample may be used immediately or frozen for future use. If you are participating in a direct sperm donation, compensation is released from escrow on the day of collection.
Non-Identified Sperm Donation
For non-identified donations, where identities remain confidential, your sample will be frozen and quarantined for a minimum of 6 months as required by FDA regulations. You will return for a second FDA screening 6 months after collection. Once cleared, your compensation will be released.

Donors must be between 18 and 38 years old. Non-smoker and free of substance use.
Health Standards
Must pass medical and phychological screening, complete genetic tests and more as needed.
