What Is National Infertility Awareness Week?
National Infertility Awareness Week (NIAW) is observed annually during the last full week of April. Established by RESOLVE: The National Infertility Association, NIAW is dedicated to raising awareness about the struggles of infertility, advocating for equitable access to family-building options, and empowering individuals to speak out about their journeys.
In 2025, NIAW takes place from April 20–26, with the theme “Leave Your Mark”—a powerful reminder that every voice, every story, and every act of advocacy contributes to breaking the stigma around infertility.
Why NIAW Matters
Infertility affects 1 in 6 couples globally, yet many suffer in silence. Misunderstood, stigmatized, and emotionally draining, infertility can take a deep toll on a person’s mental health, relationships, and sense of identity.
